Good morning
Miss Poh and fellow classmates. Gorillas, known as the destructive and
ferocious. Wrong, wrong, wrong! They are actually so gentle and harmless to us
humans. We might still think that there are so many of gorillas left on this
very planet, but let me tell you this they are on their verge of extinction.
Gorillas having 97-98% of their DNA matching with us, humans. It is said to
have around 600 mountain gorillas left.
Why safe them some of you might ask.
Many of us do not realize that we are the ones killing them. Loss of habitat is
mainly the reason for many gorillas to die. We destroy their habitat and leave
them homeless. They can’t fight back just because humans don’t see what their
really going through and we don’t hear them. What if they could talk? Would we
safe them. Imagine this. Dinosaurs still alive and ruling this planet. One day
it crashes your house just because it wanted to build a nest there. But you can’t
fight back, first reason being they are stronger, second being that they don’t
understand you at all. That’s unfair isn’t it? That’s exactly what we’re doing.
Not only losing their habitat,
poaching is another reason for them becoming almost extinct. Gorillas are hunt
down for their meat and for circuses. They live in captivity for our
entertainment. Some of you might say I’m not the one killing them but buying
them, people that sell them will kill more to satisfy the high demand. They are
part of nature just lie us what gives us the right to kill them. Think about
it, is killing really needed.
Now let me tell you some ways of
helping these animals. There is this organization called the gorilla doctor,
they are dedicated in saving them but huge amount of money is needed. So donate
a little to help them.
In conclusion, we should save
animals especially endangered animals. So what are you waiting or save
gorillas! Thank you for your kind attention.
